MOLA Analysis Documents, Pictures, and Information

  • Normal Modes and Effective Weights

    mola07_modes_750Hz.txt

This text file presents all the modes up to 750 Hz along with their effective weights (i.e., how much weight is bouncing back and forth in each mode) and effective mass moments of inertia (i.e., how much mass is rotating about a given axis). The FEM's origin for these results is located on the optical axis at the support panel midplane.

  • MOLA CDR Mechanical Analysis Presentation

    mola_cdr.zip

This is a zipped file containing the Mechanical Analysis presentation at the MOLA CDR. The file is in Word 6.0 for Windows format and is 421k zipped, 1.22Meg unzipped. (Word 6.0 for the Mac should be able to read the document.) The contents of the document have been updated to show post-CDR changes.

  • MOLA NASTRAN Bulk Data

    molabulk.zip

This is a zipped file containing the basic bulk data of the MOLA FEM used for NASTRAN analysis. The file contains only the bulk data, no executive or case control commands. When unzipped, this file is approximately 1.3MB. For further FEM information, jump to the MOLA information page.

  • MOLA Force Limiting Specifications

    frclimit.zip

This is a zipped file containing information and data on Force Limiting that will be used during random vibration testing.. The file is in Excel 5.0 for Windows format and is 110k zipped, 332k unzipped. Force limiting is where during random vibration testing, force sensors mounted between the instrument and the shaker table determine the load going into the instrument. If the force reaches an upper limit, then instructions are sent to the shaker table to lower the input level, which in turn lowers the response forces. Force limiting is a safety feature for random vibration testing.
