MOLA Laser Housing Random Vibration Analysis Results

This area deals with the analysis results and the subsequent test specifications.

  • Random analytical response due to the MOLA random vibration input

This section displays the responses of the laser housing at its mounting points due to the random vibration of the entire MOLA instrument FEM. The charts give responses in the three translational directions (T1, T2, T3) for inputs in the X, Y, and Z directions respectively. (The MOLA input spec is also available.)

The laser housing is mounted to the instrument by three bolts. The responses at each of these three locations were averaged together to create a single response in each translational direction (T1, T2, and T3). The averaged responses are presented in the tables.

All charts are about 25k in size.

  • Random input specification for testing of the laser housing

This section gives the random test specifications for the laser housing, which were developed from the analytical responses provided above. The flight laser housing was tested separately as a component in August 1995. Both tabular and graphical representations are provided.
